Blue Bell, PA (ContentDesk) July 18, 2006 -- Children opening a lemonade stand is an age-old tradition met with smiles and adults opening their wallets to buy lemonade to help the neighborhood children buy a skateboard, roller skates or some other worthwhile amusement. There is something uniquely special about a 4-year old girl who opens a lemonade stand to help cure cancer. Alexandra Alex Scott at the tender age of 4 years old started an annual lemonade stand to raise money to cure cancer as she battled the deadly disease.Alex lost her brave fight against cancer at the age of 8, but her lemonade stand and the organization it inspired continue to raise money for cancer research and treatment. On Wednesday August 23rd Applebees Restaurants with the assistance of KDS Fundraising will hold a Charity Golf Event and Fundraising Auction to raise money and awareness for Alexs Lemonade Stand.Being in the fundraising industry, we are blessed to be able to help many terrific organizations raise the funds they often are in desperate need of, Jeffrey Hammond, KDS Fundraising explains.
